The proud county seat of Baldwin County, Milledgeville is centrally located to all Georgia. Just 93 miles south east of Atlanta, 31 miles north of Macon, 31 miles north of Macon, 125 miles east of Columbus, and 91 miles southeast of Augusta.   Milledgeville can honestly say, 'You Can Get Here From There.'  Of the population of over 40,000 in Baldwin County, 12,000 of its residents live within the Milledgeville city limits, with the remainder living on the lake or in rural areas.

All four seasons come to the area, so don't be surprised to see a few snow flurries around the holiday season.  If this does happen, we treat it like a holiday.  Our overall mild climate includes an average summer temperature of 80 degrees, and a winter average of 46 degrees.  And yes, we are above the Fall Line and the Gnat Line.

Milledgeville was originally planned and laid out as the Capital of the state of Georgia in 1804, and for sixty years we held that distinction.  The newly created historic district, in and around downtown, is overseen by the historic district council.  This group helps preserve and protect the more than twenty architectural landmarks, homes, and structures deemed of historical significance.

Come! Share the town where moonlight and magnolias, dogwoods and stately oaks, coexist with a south proud of its industries, natural resources, educational facilities, and recreation areas designed for all who come here to share.  Stay a bit and see what we have to offer.  You'll probably end up calling Milledgeville home.   The 'E' team does.
